DISTRICT MISSION STATEMENT

The Mission of the Lee County School District is to foster trust, growth, and accountability in partnership with students, staff, parents, and the community.

The Lee County School District's Transportation Department transports approximately 90% of our student body on a daily basis. We have 12 regular routes and two (2) special needs route. Each year we travel over 200 thousand miles on school bus routes and extra curricular trips.

The Lee County Schools Transportation Program employs 17 people full-time. This includes bus drivers, driver-trainers, mechanics, special needs monitor, administrative assistant, and director. An additional 9 are employed as substitute or activity drivers.

Each of our drivers have completed the state's school bus training curriculum as well as federal requirements to drive a school bus. Each bus driver annually takes a CDL physical, attends an 8- hour update training, an annual driving evaluation, and are randomly drug tested. Each driver upon initial employment also receives a criminal background check, and a motor vehicle records check annually. The Lee County School District wants to assure parents that children are in safe hands while being transported to and from school.
